Itinerary

Day 1

Individual arrival in Copenhagen

Your cycle tour in Denmark starts in the capital of the small kingdom. Copenhagen is an exciting destination that impresses visitors from all over the world with its bold art scene, its hospitality and its thriving cycling culture. Its landmark is the Little Mermaid, which was modeled on a fairy tale by Danish poet Hans Christian Andersen. You can get to know other sights on a tour of the city.

Day 2

Kopenhagen – Helsingør / Snekkersten

approx. 55 / 50 km

From Copenhagen, you cycle mostly along the coast of the Öresund to Helsingør. You will be treated to magnificent views of Sweden on the opposite side of the sound. On the way, you can take a break at the famous Bellevue Beach. Kronborg Slot is located in Helsingør. It became famous as the setting for William Shakespeare's play Hamlet. According to legend, the legendary hero Holger Danske wakes up in the castle and goes into battle when Denmark is in serious danger. You spend the night in Helsingør or in the suburb of Snekkersten.

Day 3

Excursion to Sweden

approx. 45 km + ferry ride

The ferry ride (not included) takes around 20 minutes from Helsingør to Helsingborg in Sweden. From there, you can choose between various cycle tours. One option takes you to the Kullen peninsula, one of the most beautiful regions of Skåne. Rocky cliffs and cozy seaside resorts form a beautiful backdrop for this cycling stage. Alternatively, take time to discover Helsingborg – one of Sweden's oldest cities – and its sights. The ferry takes you back to Helsingør.

Day 4

Snekkersten – Hillerød / Slangerup

approx. 30 – 50 km

Today you turn your back on the sea on your cycle tour in Denmark. You cycle past the beautiful Lake Esrom and through wooded areas before reaching Hillerød. The town's landmark is Frederiksborg Castle. It extends over three islands in the middle of a lake and is considered the largest building of the Northern European Renaissance. You will spend the night in Hillerød or in the small town of Slangerup, just a few kilometers away.

Day 5

Slangerup – Roskilde

approx. 30 / 40 km

You cycle through rural regions to Roskilde Fjord. You can take a break and enjoy the fresh breeze at charming spots with views of the picturesque fjord. Fields, forests and beautiful beaches line the route to the south. Before you reach your destination for the day, Roskilde Cathedral will greet you from afar. It was completed in the 13th century and is the traditional burial place of Danish kings. Roskilde is also the venue for one of the most important music festivals in Europe.

Day 6

Roskilde – Kopenhagen

approx. 45 km

Take your time today for a stroll through Roskilde. In addition to the cathedral, the Viking Ship Museum with a large number of dragon boats is particularly worth seeing. Then cycle at a leisurely pace to Køge Bay. Cycle through small villages and towns along the coast back to Copenhagen. Go on another discovery tour, pay a visit to Amalienborg Palace and look out over the rooftops of the city from Rundetårn.
