Děčín – Pirna

Today’s section is a connection between the twinned towns of Děčín and Pirna. Soon after you leave Děčín, the Elbe begins its spectacular drop through the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Erosion has caused the soft Elbe Sandstone to weather into all kinds of fantastic shapes. The view on the Elbe valley from the Königstein Fortress is truly breathtaking.
