Between Riesling and Loreley in 7 days / 6 nights from 469,- €
The Rhine Cycle Path

Cathedrals, castles, palaces, thermal baths and lots of nature. Between Mainz and Cologne the Rhine flows through an impressive cultural landscape. The cathedrals of Mainz and Cologne, as well as the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, which is part of the UNESCO world heritage, are the journey's highlights. Cosy wine bars, hearty winemaker's meals and cheerful locals create a high-spirited atmosphere and that not only during carnival celebrations. The Rhine cycle path is also well suited for inexperienced cyclists.

This cycle tour is available in the following varieties:

Category B: Overnight stays in family run guesthouses and hotels of the national 2*/3* category.
Category A: Overnight stays in very good quality guesthouses of the national 3*/4* category.

Day 1 Individual arrival in Mainz

Mainz

For those who have enough time, the city of Mainz with its 2000 year history is definitely worth seeing! The Mogontiacum, the Roman Mainz was of great importance in ancient times. Discover contemporaries made of stone from different historical periods. Booked rental bikes will be available at the hotel.
Overnight stay in Mainz

Day 2 Mainz - Rüdesheim, approx. 35 km

The first stretch of the journey on the Rhine cycle path leisurely takes you through a wonderful landscape. A short detour to the wine, sparkling wine and rose town of Eltville is worthwhile. The oldest town in the Rheingau region awaits you with its colourful framework houses and romantic rose gardens. The abbey Eberbach is one of the most important cultural monuments in Germany. The history of the abbey reaches back to the 12th century and manifests itself in the splendid architectural features.
Overnight stay in Rüdesheim

Day 3 Rüdesheim - St. Goar, approx. 40 km

Loreley

Steeped in legend, romantic, uniquely beautiful - these are how fascinated visitors described our next destination. A slate rock which soars nearly vertically into the sky, 132 m above the Rhine in the Taunus region- this is the lexicon description. You may have realised this is an absolute highlight of our tour: the Loreley. The Rhine daughter has pulled boatmen into its spell for eternity. Today the mythical beauty fits perfectly into the romantic landscape of the region.
Overnight stay in St. Goar

Day 4 St. Goar - Koblenz, approx. 40 km

Magnificent castles can be seen en route today. The Marksburg (Marks castle) and Castle Stolzenfels, which thrones over the district of Koblenz with which it shares its name, are especially worth seeing. Discover Koblenz´ history- its rich cultural heritage in a uniquely beautiful setting has never yet failed to impress a visitor. The famous „Deutsch Eck“ (German corner) got its name from a settlement of the Teutonic Order where the Rhine and the Moselle flow together.
Overnight stay in Koblenz

Day 5 Koblenz - Bad Godesberg, approx. 60 km

Once again our journey takes us through romantic vineyards and inviting little villages up to Bad Godesberg. This suburb of Bonn was the diplomats residence up until the German capital was moved to Berlin. It seems obvious to shorten the long stretch with an interesting boat journey on the Rhine. This leaves more time to let the evening come to a cosy end in one of the welcoming wine villages.
Overnight stay in Bad Godesberg

Day 6 Bad Godesberg - Cologne, approx. 45 km

Beethoven House in Bonn

Quickly you reach Bonn, which you should definitely visit. Then you reach the last highlight of the tour. Cologne entices visitors with the famous Cathedral, one of the most visited sights in Germany. Rhine Park, botanical garden, chocolate museum - the list of attractions worth seeing is long. And in the evening you can have a fresh Koelsch in the city centre.
Overnight stay in Cologne

Day 7 Individual departure or extension

Cologne
