Itinerary

Day 1

Individual arrival in Schwäbisch Hall

Your bike tour on the Kocher-Jagst cycle path starts in beautiful city of Schwäbisch Hall. After you have checked into your hotel room take a walk through the town. The wonderful half-timbered houses have their own special charm. Visit the town's market square, where architectural styles from all eras come together. There are several impressive buildings such as the baroque town hall and the Romanesque-Gothic church of St. Michael.

Day 2

Schwäbisch Hall – Mulfingen

approx. 45 km

Your first stage takes you through lush natural landscapes to Mulfingen. You will pass the town of Langenburg along the way. Langenburg Castle rises above the Jagst valley on a ridge and is home to a castle museum. The Kocher-Jagst bike path takes you directly along the river Jagst to Mulfingen. A town shaped by its river which meanders through the town in harmony with the time-honored houses. The focus, here, in Mulfingen is on enjoyment. Enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, the hospitable people and the delicious food and some drinks in its cozy restaurants.

Day 3

Mulfingen – Jagsthausen / Sindringen

approx. 35 / 45 km

Today's bike tour takes you to Jagsthausen. You cycle along the Kocher-Jagst bike path along the green banks of its river. A typical feature of the river valley are its many meanders and loops through the shell limestone landscape. Jagsthausen is the home of the knight Götz von Berlichingen. The knight with the iron hand was born at Götzenburg Castle in 1480 and grew up here. There are two more castles in Jagsthausen, the Red Castle and the White Castle. The Red Castle is now a country inn with a beer garden. Enjoy the rustic castle cuisine in its historic setting.

Day 4

Jagsthausen – Bad Wimpfen / Bad Friedrichshall

approx. 40 – 55 km

On the Kocher-Jagst bike path, you first follow the river Kocher. The landscape is characterized by wide meadows, fields, farmland and green forests. The Kocher valley is not quite as winding as the Jagst valley still its flora and fauna are quite similar. Eventually you reach the river Neckar.  At its riverbank you've reached today's destination, Bad Friedrichshall. A visit to its salt mine is definitely worthwhile! Experience the history of salt on a guided tour.

Day 5

Bad Friedrichshall – Sindringen / Jagsthausen

approx. 30 / 40 km

After breakfast, follow the Neckar to confluence of the Jagst river. Here you will encounter the impressive silhouette of Bad Wimpfen from afar. There are numerous historic buildings in the town. The blue tower, the stone house and the Palatinate Church are particularly striking.
Take a break and recharge your batteries in the Bad Wimpfen saltwater pool (not included). From here, follow the winding Jagst valley cycle back to Sindringen / Jagsthausen.

Day 6

Sindringen – Schwäbisch Hall

approx. 55 km

Your last stage of bike tour takes you back to Schwäbisch Hall. For the majority of the time today you will cycle through the wooded valley slopes of the rugged Kocher valley. On your way, you will pass Braunsbach its Tierberg Castle and Palace. In Schwäbisch Hall, the beautiful half-timbered houses line the hillside and make the townscape unforgettable.
