Today is the first day of your center based cycling tour around Dresden. Now Dresden’s stunning scenery will unfold before you. You will explore landmarks such as the Zwinger Palace, the Semperoper Opera House, and the Frauenkirche which roughly translates to the Church of Our Lady. Although the Frauenkirche was completely destroyed during the Second World War, it has been meticulously restored to its former glory. Take a leisurely stroll through the beautifully revitalized Baroque Old Town of Elbflorenz, once the seat of power for the Electors of Saxony.

Day 2

Excursion to Pirna

approx. 50 km

Today, you will cycle along the Elbe River, passing the stunning Pillnitz Castle on your way to Pirna. The area is known as the gateway to Saxon's Switzerland. In Pirna, take the opportunity to explore the charming old town on a guided tour.  The Sonnenstein Castle is also worth a visit. In Pirna you are set at the starting point of the Saxon Wine Route- seize the opportunity to savor a glass of local wine before returning to Dresden.

Day 3

Excursion to Radebeul and Moritzburg

approx. 45 km + train ride

Today, the centre based cycling tour from Dresden leads you on a scenic journey along winding roads. You will traverse picturesque valleys on your way to Radebeul. The city is often referred to as Saxony's Nice due to its stunning location in Lößnitz. Enjoy a ride on the Lößnitztalbahn railway (included) to Moritzburg. Now you are at the home of renowned moated castle, which once served as a hunting lodge for Augustus the Strong. The path back to Dresden leads through the tranquil Friedewald Forest, a designated nature reserve along the serene Moritzburg ponds.

Day 4

Stay in Dresden

Your varied day in Dresden begins with an included city tour, showcasing the many highlights of this vibrant metropolis along the Elbe River. Marvel at the Baroque architecture and the enchanting atmosphere of the historic center. In the afternoon, indulge in a local wine tasting, where a winemaker from Dresden will present an array of delightful regional wines (tasting not included).

Day 5

Excursion to Meissen

approx. 25 km + boat trip

Once more you leave Dresden behind to cycle along the Elbe River. Radebeul the Karl May Town is today's destination. On your tour you will pass the city of Meissen which is renowned for its exquisite porcelain. Take the opportunity to visit the porcelain manufacturer at its home base. In Meissen you will also find the Meissen Cathedral and the Albrechtsburg which has been recognized as Germany's first castle. For your return to Dresden, enjoy a leisurely boat ride upstream, taking in the elegant panorama of this Baroque town.

approx. 20 – 40 km + suburban train ride (S-Bahn)

You can spend a delightful day in Saxon Switzerland, exploring at your own pace. Consider conquering Fort Königsstein, where you will be captivated by stunning panoramic views.
