Itinerary

Day 1

Individual arrival in Lübeck

The historic and magnificent Hanseatic city of Lübeck was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. While many associate Lübeck with the iconic Holsten Gate, marzipan, and the renowned author Thomas Mann, the city offers so much more to explore. Wander through its crooked brick houses, narrow alleyways, and hidden courtyards, or visit the striking town hall. There is something truly special about enjoying a fish sandwich by the Trave River at sunset, a simple pleasure that tastes all the more exquisite. It is the perfect starting point for your weekend trip to the Baltic Sea Coast.

Day 2

Lübeck – Boltenhagen

approx. 45 km + ferry ride

The first bike tour of your short tour to the Baltic Sea takes you to the charming spa town of Travemünde via the scenic Baltic Sea cycle path. Explore the city and continue on your way to Boltenhagen. On your way you will pass through the tranquil Brooker Wald nature reserve. Boltenhagen is the second oldest seaside resort in Mecklenburg. As such it is a magnet for tourists as it also hosts the annual World sailing Championship. If you wander up to the cliffs, you will havey a stunning panoramic view of the entire bay. If you would like to extend your trip further inland, the small town of Klütz offers its own delightful charm.

Day 3

Boltenhagen – Wismar

approx. 30 km

Today, on the last stage of your weekend bike tour to the Baltic Sea Coast you will follow the coastline towards the Hanseatic city of Wismar. In the old town, you'll encounter numerous impressive Gothic-style brick buildings. From here, you can take a boat to the island of Poel, a short excursion well worth the effort. The island boasts not only expansive, well-maintained sandy beaches but also historic ramparts dating back to the Thirty Years' War, adding to its unique charm.

Day 4

Individual departure

After breakfast, your weekend bike tour along the Baltic Sea concludes. Should you wish to explore further, we would be delighted to arrange an extended stay in Wismar for you.
