Itinerary

Day 1

Individual arrival on the island of Rhodes, transfer to Kalavárda

Welcome to Rhodes! After your individual arrival, you will be met at the airport and taken to the small, authentic village of Kalavárda. The place is ideal for immersing yourself in the Mediterranean lifestyle. Take your first walk to the beach or enjoy Greek cuisine in one of the traditional tavernas. Relax at the end of the evening and look forward to the next bike tour in Greece.

Day 2

Round trip in Kalavárda

approx. 35 km

Your first stage takes you on a wonderful circular tour through the surroundings of Kalavárda. First, you follow the quiet coastal road along the sparsely populated north coast. The ancient town of Kamiros is on your way and can be visited either directly or on the way back. A stop at the quaint café "Mandriko" is worth a short break, while the neighboring church is worth a look. The route leads down a gentle hill to the fishing port of Skala Kamiros, from where boats depart for the island of Halki. A detour to the medieval fortress of Kritinia rewards you with a magnificent view of the surrounding islands. You then return to Skala and head back to Kalavárda with a tailwind. There you can end the day relaxing on the beach before enjoying the included dinner at the hotel.

Day 3

Kalavárda – Petaloudes – Rhodes town

approx. 45 km

Your bike tour in Greece today takes you to the Valley of the Butterflies (Petaloudes), one of the highlights of the island. Especially in the summer months, the valley is transformed into a lively natural paradise. After a short hike through the valley, you continue your bike tour towards Rhodes Town. The impressive medieval old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, awaits you with its narrow streets, the Grand Master's Palace and Mandraki Harbour.

Day 4

Excursion to Symi

approx. 25 km + ferry trips

Today you have the choice: explore the fascinating old town of Rhodes with its historic sights, winding alleyways and charming squares or take an unforgettable excursion to the island of Symi. Take the ferry (not included, subject to availability) to the port of Panormitis in the south of the island. From there, your bike tour takes you across the island – 22 kilometers and 500 meters in altitude – to the main town of Symi. The picturesque island with its colorful neoclassical houses and idyllic harbor promenade invites you to linger. In the afternoon, the ferry (not included) will take you back to Rhodes.

Day 5

Rhodes town – Archangelos

approx. 40 km

Today's route of your bike tour in Greece takes you mostly along the east coast of Rhodes through small coastal villages and past long sandy beaches. The first highlight is the former Turkish baths of Kallithea, which have recently been restored and fascinate with their impressive architecture. In Afandou, you cycle along secluded beaches, while the Tsambika monastery on a 300-metre-high cliff looms on the horizon. Finally, you reach Archangelos, where a typical Greek atmosphere with narrow streets and traditional houses awaits you. Visit the Byzantine church or try the famous "Archangelitiko" bread in a bakery.

Day 6

Excursion to Lindos

approx. 50 km

Today you can decide whether to enjoy a relaxing day on the beach at Stegna (3 km) or take a bike ride to Lindos. The picturesque village with its whitewashed houses nestles at the foot of an imposing rock on which the ancient acropolis is enthroned. After leaving your bike at the entrance to the village, you can explore the impressive ruins of the acropolis in a medieval fortress. Lindos also offers two beautiful bays with crystal-clear water that invite you to take a refreshing break. The view of the deep blue sea from above makes this excursion an unforgettable experience.

Day 7

Archangelos – Kalavárda

approx. 40 km

The last stage of your bike tour in Greece takes you through the green hinterland of Rhodes back to Kalavárda. Along the way, you have the opportunity to visit the spring of Epta Piges, an idyllic place with seven bubbling springs, a small tavern and free-roaming peacocks. From there, you head downhill through a wooded valley to the monastery of Agios Nektarios, which invites you to take a break with its huge plane tree and refreshing fountain. Your route continues to Eleousa, an almost abandoned village that was built by the Italians and today exudes a mysterious atmosphere. You cycle on to the Byzantine chapel of Fountoukli, the oldest on Rhodes, before heading down to the west coast via Dimilia and the Silas chapel built into a cave. Cycle along the coastal road for the last few kilometers back to Kalavárda, where you can reflect on your trip in a cosy taverna.

Day 8
