Itinerary

Day 1

Individual arrival in Odense

Welcome to your bike tour from Odense to Copenhagen! Cobblestone streets, colorful little houses and parks characterize the hometown of the author Hans Christian Andersen. In the H.C. Andersen Hus, which is dedicated to him, you can immerse yourself in his fairytale world in an interactive way. Take the opportunity to get to know Odense from the water - on a boat trip on Odense Å.

Day 2

Odense – Svendborg / Troense

approx. 50 / 60 km

The first stage of your Bike tour from Odense to Copenhagen takes you to the south of Funen. Funen is often referred to as the Garden of Denmark. No wonder, as the island is characterized by blooming gardens, tranquil deciduous forests, extensive parks and fairytale castles. Speaking of castles, it's worth taking a longer break along the way at Egeskov Castle, one of the most beautiful moated castles in Europe. In Svendborg, a visit to the old town is well worthwhile. The oldest half-timbered house is Anne Hvides Gård from the 16th century. You reach Tåsinge via Svendborgsundbroen. The most famous sight on the island is Valdemars Slot. You will spend the night in Svendborg or in Troense.

Day 3

Svendborg – Nakskov

approx. 45 km + ferry ride

Today, the route continues via the island of Tåsinge, Siødæmningen, the small island of Siø and the Langelandsbroen to Langeland. After quickly crossing the narrow island, you take the ferry to Tårs on Lolland. You spend the night in Nakskov, the largest town on the island. Situated at the end of the Nakskov Fjord, medieval alleyways and half-timbered houses await you in the town center. Visit the Sugar Museum, which provides an insight into the history of sugar production, which is still of great economic importance today.

Day 4

Nakskov – Maribo / region

approx. 40 / 45 km

Today we are heading into the heart of Lolland. You cycle on almost flat cycle paths and get to know the beautiful nature of the island. First you cycle to Kragenæs in the north. Enjoy the view of the sea before getting on your bike and heading towards the nearby Dodekalitten . The modern work of art is in the shape of a stone circle. Continue to the harbor town of Bandholm. Visit the Knuthenborg Safari Park, the largest in Northern Europe. A little further south, you arrive in the cozy town of Maribo. You will spend the night in Bandholm or Maribo.

Day 5

Maribo – Nykøbing Falster / Marielyst

approx. 30 – 50 km

Today's stage of your bike tour from Odense to Copenhagen is also pleasantly flat. Take another look at the sea in Bandholm and stroll through the cozy streets of Maribo before you make your way to Falster. Via Guldborgsund you reach the island of Falster with the harbor town of Nykøbing. Half-timbered houses worth seeing characterize the townscape, as do the monastery church and the water tower. A few kilometers away, you cycle to one of Denmark's most beautiful beaches in Marielyst. You will spend the night in Nykøbing Falster or in Marielyst.

Day 6

Nykøbing Falster – Stege

approx. 70 km + ferry ride

After breakfast, another pleasantly flat stage awaits you today. First, the cycle path takes you along the coast in the east of Falster. Enjoy beautiful views of the sea not far from the Baltic Sea and a dip or two in the water. For example on the beach in Hesnæs. The small fishing village is characterized by its characteristic houses, whose walls are wrapped in straw. In Stubbekøbing, a few kilometers away, you can take a ferry to the island of Bogø and cycle to the island of Møn. Stege takes you to the island capital of Møn.

Day 7

Excursion to Møns Klint

approx. 55 km

The island of Møn is a popular vacation destination and rightly so. Møn has a variety of different landscapes in a very small area. Flat meadows and rocky, wooded hills characterize the island's landscape. Møns Klint, the highest cliff in Denmark, stands out in particular. Through the beech forest Klinteskoven you reach the up to 128-metre-high chalk cliffs - a natural spectacle in a class of its own. Steps take you to the pebble beach, ideal for a long walk, before you cycle back to Stege.

Day 8

Stege – Rødvig

approx. 70 km

Today's stage of your bike tour from Odense to Copenhagen takes you from the island of Møn to Zealand. You cycle via the Dronning Alexandrines Bro to the largest island in the Baltic Sea. You cycle on slightly hilly cycle paths via Præstø to Faxe Ladeplads. The sandy beach there is perfect for a long swim in the sun. Or how about a quick dip in the sea? Continue on to Rødvig. From the harbor, you can already see the Stevns Klint cliff, which you will get to know better tomorrow.

Day 9

Rødvig – Copenhagen

approx. 80 km or 35 km + train ride

Today you will explore the impressive cliffs of Stevns Klint, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A few kilometers away is Højerup with a church from the 13th century, which today stands spectacularly right on the cliff edge due to coastal erosion - a popular photo motif. Along Køge Bugt there are numerous places with sea views. An excellent network of cycle paths awaits you in Copenhagen. Discover highlights such as Nyhavn, Amalienborg Palace and Rundetårn. If you prefer a more leisurely ride, you can also cover the route from Køge by train (not included).
