In the evening, try the famous Czech beer in one of the many small pubs.

Day 2

Prag – Příbram

approx. 65 km

To start your cycling tour, follow the Vltava Cycle Route through gently rolling hills and a varied cultural landscape. Along the way, you will pass charming Bohemian villages with traditional houses and wood-panelled gables. Take a break in one of the inviting inns and try some regional specialities. At the end of the stage, Příbram – once an important mining centre – awaits you. In the open-air mining museum, you will gain exciting insights into the history of silver, lead and uranium mining. High above the town lies the Baroque monastery of Svatá Hora, which impresses with its panoramic views and history.

Day 3

Příbram – Písek

approx. 70 km

Today's stage takes you through the dense forests of South Bohemia. At Milešov, you can enjoy a sweeping view of the Vltava reservoir before reaching Orlík. The castle of the same name towers directly above the water – an impressive sight. A little later, you will pass Zvíkov Castle, spectacularly situated on a headland between the Vltava and Otava rivers. In the Middle Ages, it was considered one of the strongest fortresses in Bohemia. The destination of this stage is Písek – a charming small town with historical flair. A special highlight is the Gothic stone bridge, which is considered the oldest of its kind in Czechia.

Day 4

Písek – Budweis

approx. 70 km

On today's stage you will mainly follow the Vltava River. The fascinating primeval and cultural landscapes will inspire you. On the way you will meet one of the oldest South Bohemian towns – Týn nad Vitavou. A small forest path will lead you to the next highlight – Hluboká Castle with an impressive park. High above the Vltava River towers the magnificent building, which once originated from a castle. Windsor Castle was the model for this, which can be clearly seen. Your stage destination is České Budějovice, famous for its beer. After the day's exertions, don't miss out on a taste. Cheers!

Day 5

Budweis – Gmünd

approx. 55 km

Through meadows and forests you cycle through beautiful landscapes in the middle of a nature reserve – a dreamlike experience for every cyclist! The so-called South Bohemian Pond Plateau was created by pond farming, which has been developed for a long time. Enjoy the peace and take a break on the shore! Architecture and culture are not neglected today either: picturesque villages, historic buildings and old fortresses line your way. You will cross the border to Austria and spend the night in the border town of Gmünd.

Day 6

Gmünd – Rosenburg / Gars am Kamp

approx. 65 / 70 km

Continue through the north of Lower Austria – through the so-called forest quarter (Waldviertel). The area, characterized by numerous river and pond landscapes, lets you really enjoy the wonderful nature once again! You cycle through seemingly endless forests full of originality. Don't miss the Waldviertel cuisine, which is famous far beyond Austria's borders. Typically, freshly caught carp with potatoes is served here. Enjoy!
